10 Celebs You Didn't Know Appeared In Futurama
5. Al Gore As Himself
First appearing in Season 2 episode Anthology of Interest I, Al Gore was a fictional version of the real-life politician that also served as the leader of the "Vice Presidential Action Rangers", a secret group that worked to protect the space-time continuum. The character was featured again in Crimes of the Hot, Bender's Big Score, and The Futurama Holiday Spectacular.
In the world of Futurama, Al Gore is less of a guest star and more of a recurring character. Given his key role in a number of stories, it makes it seem unlikely that the former two-time Vice President of the United States would lend his own voice to the show several times over the span of a decade, doesn't it?
Well, that's exactly what he did. Yes, the former second most powerful man on Earth appeared repeatedly on the show, even at one point proclaiming himself the "first Emperor of the Moon", as well as claiming to have "ridden the mighty moon worm."
Gore's daughter Kristin served as one of the show's writers, which maybe goes a short way to explaining how this slightly unbelievable turn of events came to pass.
Still, it's always nice to see a politician with a sense of humour.
