10 Characters The Walking Dead Killed Off At The Wrong Time
4. Beth
Beth Greene is an interesting entry on this list because she could've been killed before or after her actual death and it would've made for a better story. The reasoning behind this is that the second story arc of the fifth season of The Walking Dead revolves around where she is, who has kidnapped her and how she is going to escape. On the cusp of a reunion with Daryl and her sister Maggie, she is killed in a rather contrived way.
This was frustrating for fans as it just made the entire hospital arc feel a bit pointless. Had Beth survived beyond this event it would've been interesting to see how the group reacted to how she had changed since they had last seen her at the prison. There were plenty of different avenues that could've been explored between Beth and Maggie, seeing as they both never got a chance to mourn their father together. Sadly for the sisters, the reunion was never to be.
On the other side of things, having her actually die in the prison battle would've benefited the story in several ways. It would've boosted the death count, it would've meant that there was no need for the arguably pointless hospital arc and it would mean people couldn't critique Maggie for choosing Glenn over her own sister. It was always strange and out of character how Maggie barely even mentioned her younger sister until season five began.
