10 Classic Doctor Who Enemies Who Need To Return
8. The Movellans
Modern viewers may recognise these mop-haired robots all dressed in white from their brief appearance in Season 10's The Pilot. However, there's much more to the Movellans than an out-of-focus cameo for the sake of fan-service.
Since they only appeared in one televised story - 1979's Destiny of the Daleks - they've hardly made the biggest impact on the show's mythos, but they still play an important part in the show's history. You see, they were originally introduced as an enemy of the Daleks, with the two sides engaged in a fierce war. Things were so bad for the Daleks at that point, that it actually prompted them to revive their creator, Davros, to aid in their war effort.
Given how the modern era has built the post Time War Daleks up as an unstoppable force (that actually gets stopped all the time), it may surprise some to learn that the Daleks have even been engaged in war with anyone besides the Time Lords. That's why it could be a breath of fresh air to have one of their old enemies return. It could provide a different kind of Dalek story compared to what modern viewers are used to and maybe even help to turn the Daleks into a legitimate threat again.
Just imagine if that brief battle scene from The Pilot encompassed an entire episode, depicting a truly fierce and destructive war zone, with the Doctor and their companion siding with the Movellans. It could make for an interesting change.
