10 Comic Book Characters Who Deserve Their Own TV Shows

6. Luke Cage/Iron Fist (Heroes for Hire)

Heroes-For-Hire

A Heroes for Hire television show would sell itself by the concept alone (and make for an excellent title). Luke Cage formed Heroes for Hire as a way to use superheroics to pay the bills, and teamed up with Iron Fist and Jessica Jones (among other Marvel characters). The Heroes for Hire featured a rotating team of heroes acting as private detectives. It's easy to see how the show could involve Luke Cage and Iron Fist as the main leads, solving a different case each episode. Jessica Jones could act as Cage's romantic interest in the show, and their on-again off-again history in the comics could play well on TV. Luke Cage (aka Power Man) has nearly impervious skin and super strength. Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, is a practitioner of martial arts, which are enhanced by his power to summon and focus his chi. This gives him improved strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, and reflexes. Their powers would be simple (and cheap) to convey on television and they have a very buddy-cop, action comedy relationship; which could give the show a fun Burn Notice-esque feel with a superhero twist. Marvel has already expressed interest in adding Luke Cage to their film roster, so the interest in the character is definitely there.
