10 Comic Book TV Shows Cancelled Before Their Time
1. Daredevil
While fans were still recovering from the loss of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and other series on Netflix, the show that nobody thought could be cancelled was dropped after its third season was released too.
Marvel's Daredevil launched Netflix's MCU contingent and the show was incredibly successful and popular. Because of Daredevil, shows like The Punisher, Jessica Jones, and the other previously mentioned series all saw light on the streaming service, so its cancellation came as a shock to fans across the world.
Before the third season premiered, it was already reported that a fourth season was sure to follow due to it being "widely watched and critically acclaimed," but that wasn't the case. When Netflix cancelled the series, they gave no explanation other than to suggest the character would "live on in future projects for Marvel."
Rumors and discussions on the Internet suggest Marvel and Disney may be planning to recreate Daredevil and some of their other properties on Disney+, the House of Mouse's own streaming service set to launch in 2019, but there have been no confirmations about that so far.
With the cancellation of Daredevil, hopes for continued Marvel/Netflix live-action shows are bleak, and though this cancellation was only recent, fans won't forget it anytime soon.
