10 Controversies Netflix Wants You To Forget

2. The First Temptation Of Christ

On Christmas Day 2019, a group identifying itself as the "Popular Nationalist Insurgency Command of the Large Brazilian Integralist Family" celebrated the birth of Jesus by releasing a video statement. In the video the far-right religious group, all of which were wearing masks, recorded themselves throwing molotov cocktails through the window of the office of Porta dos Fundos.

So, what had Porta dos Fundos done to raise the ire of a religious group to the point they'd celebrate Jesus with an act of heinous violence? They're a comedy group and they'd just released a 46 minute Netflix special called The First Temptation Of Christ, in which Jesus was portrayed as a gay man.

Obviously such a horrific attack was universally condemned by Christians everywhere and... just kidding.

The well-known forgivers immediately forgave the arsonists so fast that they didn't have a chance to speak out against them. Plum tuckered out from all that forgiving, they then campaigned against the victims of the attack on Twitter using the hashtag #CanceloNetflix, showing screenshots of emails that confirmed they'd cancelled their Netflix accounts and making an appeal to the religious sensibilities of other Christians that they do so too.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
