10 Controversies That Rocked Game Of Thrones

8. Not Enough Ser Pounce

On a lighter note, Ser Pounce happens to be the kitty that belongs to Tommen Baratheon in Game of Thrones, and was seen on screen in Season 4 - a fact that delighted fans of A Song of Ice and Fire, who knew Ser Pounce from the novels.

In those, Tommen is actually given Ser Pounce by Margaery Tyrell as a gift, one of three kitties. As a child, big brother and eventual king Joffrey would brutally murder any kitten, and really any pet (including a fawn) Tommen would keep, so Ser Pounce came to have a special meaning. The killings were a glimpse into Joffrey's psychopathic state, and Ser Pounce was perhaps a reminder of Tommen's innocence.

The controversy? Dean-Charles Chapman, who plays Tommen, called the "actor" who portrays Ser Pounce a diva, and "a bit of a bugger" on set in a recent interview with MTV. Of course, it's a cat, so that's to be expected. Fans also want more of Ser Pounce, something Chapman acknowledged to MTV, saying he'd be open to the kitty coming back (no hard feelings, right?), but that it was up to the producers in the end.
