10 Craziest Fan Theories About The Simpsons

1. Marge Actually Shot Mr Burns

Simpsons Mont Burns Points To Maggie1 Yes, yes we know. It was Maggie. Or Smithers. Or maybe Homer. At least that's what he claimed in "Revenge is a Dish Best Served Three Times." Yet many fans insist that Marge actually shot Mr Burns. Why? Because he dared to take Maggie's candy. And one surefire way to make Marge angry is to threaten Maggie. So we have our Why?, but what of the How? Well Burns was shot by a Smith & Wesson, the same pistol owned by Grampa Simpson. In "Who Shot Mr Burns Part 1" we see Marge bury Grampa's gun in the backyard, although the gun has been dug up by the episodes end, just in time for it to be used against Burns. Marge would at least have known where the gun was. Secondly the bullet had Simpson DNA on it which would make Marge a suspect (she took everything when she married Homer, including DNA). She was already trained to use a firearm during her career as a cop in "The Springfield Connection" and she looked a little too comfortable with Homer's gun at the end of "The Cartridge Family". Finally Marge pinned the shooting on Maggie, knowing that no jury would convict a baby (except maybe in Texas as Chief Wiggum pointed out). But wait! If that were true, then why would Burns go along with it? Why did he name Maggie as the assailant, instead of Marge? Well fans argue that Burns still had feelings for Marge after the episode "Marge Gets a Job". He was so in love with her that he fired her for being married to Homer. This too could be argued as a possible motive for Marge to shoot him. Of course for this theory to be correct, we would have to ignore the fact that Marge was seen alone outside Town Hall when the gun went off, and as Troy McClure would say "That would be downright nutty!" So there you go! Ten of the craziest, yet oddly compelling Simpsons fan theories. Got anything to add? We'd love to hear it!

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
