7. There Are No Zombies And Rick And Co Are Rampaging Murderers

Like the ‘it’s all Rick’s coma dream’ idea, this theory also poses that the events of the so-called zombie apocalypse aren’t actually real, but in a much more dark and twisted way. Rather than a product of a fever dream, it states that Rick and Co are all on a murderous rampage against completely regular, non-zombified folk fuelled by some kind of group psychosis or hallucination.

Hark back to Tyreese’s unfortunate death in Season 5 at the hands of Noah’s zombified brother. Shortly before he dies, Tyreese hallucinates a radio broadcast (narrated by Andrew Lincoln in his real English accent) that talks about a group of marauders committing random acts of violence such as destroying villages (i.e. Woodbury), burning down prisons (self-explanatory) and mutilation of children (Lizzie and Mika, perhaps?).

The theory goes that this hallucinated broadcast is actually Tyreese’s guilty conscience playing out and detailing all the murderous, amoral stuff (and thangs) Rick and Co (aka The Bad Guys) have done to regular, nice civilians. Implausible as it may be, it’d make for a hell of a plot twist.
