10 Craziest The Simpsons Fan Theories

8. Homer Is A Billionaire

Even though Homer makes a decent wage at a power plant, it unfeasible for him to make enough to accommodate his exploits. Considering how many costly adventures and extravagant holidays the Simpsons have, you'd assume the family would've gone bankrupt a hundred times over.

Some theorists have suggested Homer doesn't have to worry about money since he can live off the royalty checks from his band, The Be Sharps. This notion is strengthened by the fact that the group's ex-members, Barney, Apu, and Skinner also live affluent lifestyles. Skinner resides in a luxurious house, Apu cares for his eight children on a convenient store wage, and Barney boozes all day despite having no consistent job.

But that’s not all. In the episode, You Only Move Twice, Hank Scorpio gave Homer the rights for the Denver Broncos, currently worth $3.75 billion. Because of this, Homer could very well be the richest person in Springfield, surpassing his boss, Mr Burns. Due to Homer’s utter buffoonery, he might be more loaded than he realises, which explains why he doesn't take advantage of his amassed wealth.
