5. The Simpsons Are Geniuses

In the episode, Lisa the Simpson, it's revealed that the females in the family are genetically inclined to be intelligent while the males are destined to be idiots.

However, there's evidence to prove Bart and Homer are far smarter than they appear. Bart was a good student in his younger years but chose not to study since he preferred the life of a prankster. In the episode, Brother's Little Helper, Bart was diagnosed with ADHD and proved far more intellectual once given the appropriate medication. Because of how elaborate his pranks are, there’s no question he’s much smarter than he lets on. In a flash-forward, Bart becomes a Supreme Court judge, highlighting he can be smart when he pushes himself.

Even though Homer is Springfield’s most famous idiot, we learn in the episode, HOMR, that his stupidity is not genetic. When he was a child, Homer shoved a crayon up his nose, causing it to get lodged in his brain. When it was removed during adulthood, Homer became so smart, he could solve a Rubik's cube without looking, and used math to prove God isn't real.
