10 Crazy Characters You Forgot Existed In Stargate

9. Joe Spencer

Joe Spencer, played by Dan Castellaneta, was a barber in the US who came into possession of an Ancient long-range communications device. This led to him experiencing visions of SG-1 and their adventures.

In another twist, somewhere along Spencer's family line, an Ancient must have had a child with a 'Spencer', thus providing him with the Ancient activation gene even all those generations later.

This had a negative effect on him, to say the least. He was linked to Jack O'Neill, when the latter brushed against another communication stone in 1998. This allowed Joe to see flashes of O'Neill's mind, convinced that these events were actually happening. He told his stories of SG-1 to everyone in his barber shop, but it escalated to the point where people were fed up listening to him, and his wife left him.

Thankfully, he was able to track O'Neill down in 1995, which allowed him to confirm his suspicions and, with a little help from O'Neill, save his marriage.
