10 Current TV Dramas That Show This Is A Golden Era

9. Revenge

Revenge is a show of passion, betrayal and a lust for justice. As a little girl, Amanda Clarke, now Emily Thorne, watched as her father was taken from their house and arrested for treason, never to see his daughter again. Years later when Emily discovers that her father was murdered in prison, she makes it her mission to seek revenge on every person who had a part in her father's arrest and subsequent imprisonment. But, as Emily enlists the help of others she soon realises that her view of her father she held as a young girl, isn't exactly reality. Since its first appearance on our T.V screens, Revenge has done exceptionally among viewers and critics alike, receiving some of the highest ratings that T.V channel ABC has ever seen. It has also gone on to be nominated for numerous awards, particularly for its two lead actresses, Emily VanCamp who plays Emily Thorne and Madeleine Stowe who plays her arch nemesis, Victoria Grayson. But what is it that makes Revenge one of the best current dramas? Perhaps it's Madeleine Stowe's portrayal of the ultimate villain, or the fact that at times the show is so sensational that it becomes less of a drama and more of a parody of one, especially in regard to the terrible trailers that came before the first season. But, it seems that even those who sat down ready to hate Revenge just can't help coming back for more as the series gets darker and more psychologically thrilling with every episode.
