10 Damaging Life-Lessons The Simpsons Taught Us

2. Being A Draining Non-Contributor Is Fine

One of the darkest episodes in Simpsons history €œHomer€™s Enemy€ explores how a real person would respond to Homer in real life situations, and alas, it would lead to them going insane and accidentally killing themselves. No episode has shone the spotlight on Homers (self-imposed) blissful ignorance like this one and Frank Grimes hits the nail right on the head when he declares that Homer is what€™s wrong with America, that he just drifts through life, does as little as possible, and would have starved to death long ago if he lived in any other country in the world. Heavy stuff! The sad thing though is that Grimey€™s accurate criticisms fall on deaf ears and are essentially rendered irrelevant by the episodes end as his coffin is lowered into the ground, and everyone is paying attention to loveable old Homer. We all love Homer, but it€™s hard to take his side in this episode. To be fair, he never had a problem with Frank Grimes. In fact he actually wanted to be his friend, but alas this episode proved that Homer€™s lifestyle, enabled by a town full of people just as ignorant as him, would get you killed in real life.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
