1. Strangling Your Child Is Okay... And Also Funny
Many people love Homer, but cant defend this. The one aspect of the show which has drawn the most complaints and taught viewers the worst lessen is Homers frightening attitude towards parenting. Attempting to strangle your own child? No way would you see that on any other program. The producers have defended this by saying that Homer only ever strangles Bart when he provokes him, and that its always a spur of the moment action, caused by rage. Homer has never attempted to strangle Bart without provocation, nor has he planned any strangling ahead of time. Still it remains concerning that Homer has never received any comeuppance for this - apart from being strangled by Kareem Abdul Jabbar. And while its up in the air if this is canon, in Behind the Laughter Homer reveals that the strangling was a result of him attempting to film his own family sitcom. After Bart tells him his script sucks, Homer strangles Bart in front of the TV crew who all laugh and thus Homer has found a new running gag. So yeah, child abuse is legal and funny. Thanks Simpsons! Thanks for reading. Have we missed anything? With 25 seasons it's likely! Let us know in the comments!
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
