10 Dark British Comedy TV Shows That Must Be Seen

7. Snuff Box

Starring the fantastic duo of Matt Berry and Rich Fuller, Snuff Box follows The High Executioner to the King of England (Berry) and his assistant (Fuller) as they go about their day to day business. The majority of the show is set in a 'gentlemen's club for hangmen' although there are other sketches involving separate characters. The music to the show was mostly composed and sang by Matt Berry himself with the theme being recorded in his flat. As is to be expected from the stars, the humour is surreal and at times disconcerting. Neither of the main characters are likeable they lie, insult and cheat each other out of opportunities but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't funny to watch. Rich and Matt are great together onscreen and you can tell that they're having a great time playing these awful characters. Although it only had a short run of six episodes, I'd highly recommend tracking them down and giving them some quality time, you won't be disappointed. Fun Fact: The theme music to Snuff Box appeared in a few scenes of the 2012 film Dredd.
