10 Darkest Rick And Morty Moments

3. Slick Morty Kills Himself

The Ricklantis Mixup is quite simply one of the greatest episodes the show has to offer. Rather than following the usual titular heroes, the story shifts focus to the Citadel of Ricks, and the narratives that make up such a place. It’s a brilliant episode and incredibly dark.

In the background of the Presidential race, eventually won by Evil Morty, we see a school training Mortys before being deployed to a new Rick. Of course, the Citadel of Ricks isn’t the best place for a Morty, as they are under appreciated and treated like garbage. One Morty couldn’t take it anymore.

Slick Morty, along with Fat Morty, Lizard Morty, and Glasses Morty, decided to go to the wishing portal on their last day before being transferred to their new Ricks. It’s said that you have to give up something really important for your wish to come true. Slick’s wish was for any part of life on the Citadel to get better for the Mortys, and he gave up his own life in the hope of achieving it.

The entire episode is dark, from Simple Rick, to Mortys killing Mortys, and President Morty’s cull, but Slick’s suicide in the self confessed futile attempt to make the world a better place for the Mortys left behind takes the crown.
