9. Setting It Up In Another Star Wars Show - The Mandalorian (Season 3)

There's absolutely no denying that The Mandalorian's third season is one of the most anticipated TV shows of the entire year, but it also comes with a huge caveat, that more casual Star Wars fans might end up feeling a little lost.

After all, season two ended with Mando (Pedro Pascal) leaving Grogu with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), as provided an intriguing setup for season three.

But this matter was ultimately resolved in another Disney+ Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett, where Mando and Grogu were reunited, as will surely confuse just about anyone who didn't watch it.

It perhaps speaks to a wider issue with cinematic universes that have storytelling strands spread across different shows of varying importance. But even so, turning the latter half of The Book of Boba Fett into a glorified Mandalorian season 2.5 was probably a mistake all things considered.

It's easy to suspect that Disney originally planned a more prolonged separation between the two characters, but as Grogu's immense popularity grew they decided to abruptly pivot and get the duo back together.

Either way, it's messy as universe-based storytelling goes, and ensures those who don't obsessively watch every Star Wars series are basically paying the price for it.
