10 Disturbing Fan Theories About Kids' TV Shows

5. Charlie Brown - Charlie Is Dying

While most children€™s shows feature a certain degree of wish fulfilment and focus on happy endings, Peanuts stands out as something as a downer. While fantastical things do occur (not least of which is the anthropomorphised dog), they still tend to end on a sour note.

It turns out that Charlie Brown is bald because he has cancer. Even worse, everything that happens in the series is the result of his overactive imagination, made more vivid either by the cancer itself or the treatment used to try and kill it. The real kicker behind this theory is that the reason nothing ever quite works out for him is because he knows that he's dying, and has resigned himself to the fact that life isn't fair and he's already given up.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
