10 Disturbingly Dark Episodes Of Children's TV Shows

9. "Consider Me Gone" - Alf

NBCNBCAnd speaking of brutal series finales, there may not be a more disturbing ending to a children's TV show than Alf. Though it was unintentional, since NBC backed out of their fifth season commitment to creator Paul Fusco, it still leaves the normally quirky show on its most ominous note. A common theme in the series was the idea that if Alf was ever discovered by the government, it would likely lead to some form of alien dissection and the end of the character as we know it. So when the series finale, "Consider Me Gone", ended with Alf being surrounded by a whole squad of government goons, there's something very frightening about the implications. In fact, an earlier episode had already implied that Alf was on their radar, showing what sinister intentions they had with the furry creature. "Consider Me Gone" paints a supremely dark ending for our hero; one which was eliminated by the TV movie Project ALF, which finally resolved the unintentional cliffhanger. Still, it's hard to watch the finale of Alf and not initially feel like you had your guts ripped out.
