10 Doctor Who Bloopers You Need To See

8. "YAHOOOOOOOOO!"

Actors forgetting or fluffing their lines is the most common type of blooper that we see, but there are also many instances where the fault lies with a misbehaving prop, or a piece of the set.

Even modern Who, with its bigger budgets and more advanced technology, wasn't immune to these incidents - padlocks not opening on cue, Silurian weapons not firing, pocket watches being misplaced, the usual - but the funniest example occurred during the Fourth Doctor serial The Sun Makers.

As Cordo rushes in whooping and cheering, he is meant to fire his gun into the air in celebration. However, at least three takes saw actor Roy Macready enter the scene and struggle to shoot the weapon.

Even without the unreliable prop, it's a small miracle that Macready's co-stars managed to keep a straight face considering how hilarious his repeated screams of "YAHOOOOOOOO!" are.

Moments like this also highlight the fact that actors must react to a situation as though it is unexpected, despite the fact that they might have done it countless times already!

Sometimes you hear my voice, sometimes you see my face and sometimes you read my words! But I’m usually away with the faeries and timelords! ?‍♀️

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
