You just knew that this one would be at the top of the list, didn't you? Doctor Who and Star Trek - otherwise known as the science fiction crossover to end them all. And let's face it, it really would be. Both shows are equally as old as each other and have respective fandoms the size of an entire universe (and then some) so, in a sense, there should be a televised crossover purely because they have more right than any other franchises on the mark. Captain Kirk and the Doctor. Captain Picard and the Doctor. They certainly have a ring to them, don't they? Slips right off the tongue. However, the two problems that would hinder the development of this crossover lie with the fans and the cast. Whovians and Trekkies are generally rivals and, if this was ever made, they would either rejoice or kill each other (metaphorically speaking). Something tells us the producers of both wouldn't want to take that risk. As for the cast... well, this is an issue with the cast of Star Trek, really. Would they be interested in partaking in such a 'publicity stunt', as a crossover with Doctor Who would inevitably be referred to? Suffice to say, our hopes for one will live long and prosper. What do you think of this list? Are there any other Doctor Who crossovers that are just waiting to happen? Let us know in the comments section below.
