10 Doctor Who Details You Definitely Missed The First Time

2. A Noteworthy Book (The End Of The World)

In just the second episode of NuWho, Russell T Davies went all out with a story set on the day the Earth is destroyed.

There to watch this cosmic event is a cast of funky-looking folk including some tree people, the Moxx of Balhoon, and a talking trampoline.

That trampoline, Cassandra, turned out to be the main villain of the piece. For those who don't know, this character was voiced by British actress Zoë Wanamaker, and a clue to one of her other endeavours could be spotted on the Doctor Who set.

In one scene, Cassandra is standing (if you can call it standing) in front of a case full of Earth memorabilia. On the right-hand side of the shot is a book with a red colour. That book? Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

In the 2001 movie adaptation of the book, Hogwarts' flying instructor Madame Hooch is played by none other than Zoë Wanamaker. She didn't appear in any other instalments of the franchise, but at least she got a memorable scene here.

It's a neat little tip of the cap, but since Cassandra was a voice-only role, Wanamaker wasn't actually on the set to see it for herself!
