Felicity Jones starred in the adorably campy and genuinely underrated Series 4 episode The Unicorn and the Wasp, which saw her character, Robina Redmond, embroiled in a sci-fi murder mystery alongside none other than Agatha Christie herself.

While Redmond did not turn out to be the murderer (despite arriving with a concealed handgun), her cover was blown when she was revealed as Ada Mullins, aka The Unicorn - a jewel thief in deep cover. Jones plays both sides of this charming character well, but she was soon destined for much bigger things.

In 2014, she landed a major role in The Theory of Everything as Jane Hawking, which saw her receive a slew of nominations come awards season, including an Oscar nod for Best Actress.

Most sci-fi buffs, however, will recognise her for her role in another space-faring juggernaut. Jones was cast as Jyn Erso, the reluctant hero of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which might just be the best Star Wars film of the Disney era.

As a young actress, Jones also appeared in the TV series The Worst Witch, a show that will no doubt stoke up some nostalgia for '90s kids.
