10 Doctor Who Mistakes You Can NEVER Unsee

9. The Disappearing Bucket (Deep Breath)

Many wondrous things are possible in the vast world of Doctor Who. Objects can be shrunk down to microscopic sizes, people can explore the stars in highly advanced spacecraft, and apparently... ordinary buckets can disappear?

Part way through Series 8's Deep Breath, Clara Oswald encounters Strax the Sontaran, who, politely, asks her if she needs anything. She says that she wouldn't mind some water, at which point, Strax - who lacks social skills on a basic level - dumps an enormous bucket of dirty mop water on the table (see the image above).

Understandably quite taken aback by this, Clara refuses Strax's kind gesture, and in the very next shot... the bucket is just gone.

Nobody is shown moving it, we don't hear any offscreen audio of it being moved, and hell, there isn't even enough time for someone to move it, due to how quick the sequence of shots is.

It's just a magic, disappearing bucket. Spooky!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
