10 Doctor Who Mistakes You Can NEVER Unsee

4. The Doctor's Script (The Day Of The Doctor)

Doctor Who The Day Of The Doctor Matt Smith script

It's one of the greatest scenes in Doctor Who history: that moment in The Day Of The Doctor where 13 Doctors combine forces to save Gallifrey from a Dalek assault. It's fan-pleasing, emotional, and well, just ruddy brilliant in every way.

For such a memorable moment, this scene, fittingly, also contains one of the show's most memorable mistakes, courtesy of leading man Matt Smith.

The scene cuts between a few different perspectives - the Dalek ships, the Tenth Doctor, the War Doctor, the Eleventh Doctor, and the Time Lord War Council - and in many of Matt Smith's shots, you can see a script sitting on the TARDIS console next to him, which the actor presumably left there by accident.

The lighting in these shots does make the script blend into the console's surface a little, but once you spot it, you will never be able to un-spot it. For such an important scene, it's actually hard to believe that this mistake wasn't rectified.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
