10 Doctor Who Moments That Were Improvised

Whenever Michelle Gomez was onscreen as Missy, you never knew where things were going to go. She brought such danger and unpredictability to her scenes that it was hard to discern her true intentions, which made her an exciting character to watch.

Because of how wild Missy's antics were, it would be reasonable to assume that Gomez was constantly improvising, and while this isn't true (the actress has said that she didn't need to improvise, simply because Steven Moffat wrote her character so well), one of Missy's best moments was indeed thought up by Gomez on the spot.

In the Series 8 finale, there's a scene where Missy is being held captive onboard a UNIT aeroplane. Locked up and unable to move, she starts to sing a version of the Mickey song, replacing "Mickey" with "Missy" to give the tune her own unique spin:

"Hey Missy, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, hey Missy!"

According to Gomez herself, this musical moment was pure improvisation. Clearly, Moffat liked it so much that he decided to keep it in, and not only that, he also had Missy use this song again at the start of the following series.
