Peter Kay: beloved comedian, chart-topping pop-star... and one of the most hated Doctor Who monsters of all time.

Kay played the slimy Abzorbaloff in Series 2's Love & Monsters, which has certainly gone down as one of the Doctor Who episodes of all time.

This nasty green beast disguises itself as an eccentric human named Victor Kennedy and infiltrates a group of people searching for the Tenth Doctor, with the aim of 'absorbing' him into his hideous body.

The Abzorbaloff was actually designed by a young fan as part of a Blue Peter competition, and unfortunately it has since gone down as a complete and utter misfire.

Kay himself would agree with that, even though he did enjoy his time making the episode. In a 2011 interview he labelled Doctor Who as the one real regret of his career, saying:

"I loved making it but when I saw it, I thought, ‘Oh my God. I’m a big green lizard running around Cardiff? Is that it?’ It’s nice to have been in Doctor Who but that is regarded by fans as the worst episode ever."

If it's any consolation Peter, nobody is ever going to forget that you were in Doctor Who... even if you'd really like them to.
