Yep, this is definitely the easiest and, unfortunately for Missy, most likely option on this list. Suffice to say, there's still an international demand for Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper to make their grand return to our screens - despite the ultimate failings of their last American adventure, Miracle Day, which is pretty much universally regarded as non-canonical by this point - and even their real life alter egos, John Barrowman and Eve Myles, have revealed they're anxiously awaiting the call, too. The more adult-orientated spin off premiered on BBC Three in October 2006 and went on to reach new levels of uncharted success for the digital channel before being promoted to BBC Two for its second series and then the mothership, BBC One, for its third - and most critically acclaimed - 5 part serial, Children of Earth. Before its Starz collaboration took hold in 2011, audiences had been well and truly taken by the ongoing escapades of South Wales' most notorious alien-busting alliance but things went from bad to worse for the troubled Torchwood team when the writers gradually killed off more than half of the show's principal cast members and blew up their beloved Cardiff Bay headquarters. If Torchwood was to make its long overdue comeback, therefore, things would have to change. Lots of things, actually. Jack and Gwen would have to set up base back in Cardiff, for starters, because it's arguably the loss of the show's unique Welsh charm that made it so difficult to connect with its frivolous foray across the pond, which generally felt more like a season of CSI than Torchwood - and a bad one, at that. Jack and Gwen would have to be joined by a new team of interesting and original characters, too, ones who weren't as boring and one dimensional as the mundane offering of Miracle Day's elite ensemble. Or they could just make everyone happy by bringing back Toshiko, Owen and Ianto (yes they're dead, but what else is the resurrection glove for? What do you mean that's been blown up!? Oh, boy...) and fans would even settle for Martha and Mickey, too. Besides, it doesn't look like their spin off will be taking off any time soon. Do you agree with these spin off ideas? Are there any others we haven't mentioned? Leave your comments and suggestions below.
