10 Doctor Who Villains Who Actually Won

4. The Weeping Angels (The Angels Take Manhattan)

While the Vashta Nerada were simply looking for a home, the Weeping Angels are just nasty little so-and-sos through and through.

These stony sods feed off people's time energy, sending their victims back to the past to live out their days in confusion and isolation. See? What a bunch of meanies.

They do this to poor old Rory Pond in Series 7's The Angels Take Manhattan. They originally send him back to 1938, but the Doctor, Amy, and River Song all manage to rescue him by causing a paradox that wipes the Angels out.

Or so they thought.

While standing in a graveyard, Rory spots a tombstone with his name on it. Before he has a chance to say "Ruh-roh", he is touched by a surviving Angel and is displaced once again.

Due to the paradox, the TARDIS cannot return to the time where Rory is trapped. Faced with a life without her beloved, Amy touches the Angel too, and joins her hubby in the past.

It's an incredibly sad exit for the Ponds, that's made even worse when you realise that the Angels actually got what they desired.
