10 Dumbest Decisions Made By Futurama Characters

7. The Professor Repeated His Old Mistakes

From the very first time Fry, Leela and Bender met the Professor, the mysterious and deadly fate of his previous crew was hinted at. The career chips he gave to his new crew came from an envelope marked "contents of space wasps’ stomach", which apparently didn’t put anybody off.

It wasn’t until a few years later that he sent this crew on the same mission that killed the last one. Though it was actually space bees, they were no less deadly than previously thought. Leela was very close to being killed on a mission you would have thought Professor Farnsworth was smart enough not to send anyone on again.

If only this was the sole example of the Professor sending Fry, Leela and Bender somewhere he had lost employees before. His very first crew had been lost many years earlier while journeying through the Bermuda Tetrahedron on Planet Express' first ever delivery.

Amazingly, Farnsworth sent his current crew through the exact same anomaly in space to pick up and deliver a stone monument for the very crew he lost there fifty years earlier. Bender was the one who once said he thought of human life as expendable, but it seems that the same could be said about the Professor.
