10 Dumbest Decisions Made By Supernatural Characters
5. Not Saving Adam From The Cage
One of the most hated and meme'd storylines on Supernatural is the Winchester brothers not saving their half-brother Adam from Lucifer’s cage. Despite both Sam and Dean preaching constantly how important family is to them, this importance doesn’t seem to arise when it comes to Adam, who they completely forgot about and left in Hell. It seems that the family importance only applies to the two of them and no one else.
Although it is true that the brothers weren’t very close to Adam in the first place, he was still family at the end of the day and the Winchesters should’ve tried to rescue him from Hell especially with Sam knowing the trauma he would’ve been going through down there. Although Adam is mentioned in the show's 300th episode, Adam was seemingly forgotten again until he returns in the show's final episode as a vessel for the original Michael the brothers fought in Season 5.
Sam and Dean’s decision not to save Adam from Hell caused a big plot hole in the show as it didn’t make sense for the brothers to preach about family and brotherhood all while forgetting about their third brother who is stuck in Hell.
