10 Dumbest Villain Plans In TV Shows
4. One Monster At A Timeā¦ Really? - Rita Repulsa (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)
The phrase "Monster of the Week" is used to refer to a show with a catalogue of one-time villains for the hero to beat once and never deal with again.
Good examples include Doctor Who, early Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and maybe the best of all, the Power Rangers series.
The various villains the various Rangers have dealt with over the years are all ardently anti-multitasking. They send one monster every week, watch as the heroes defeat them, then usually bring that monster back in giant form to necessitate a Megazord fight.
Has it ever occurred to them that maybe sending all of these monsters at once might be the way to go? Instead of waiting politely for their creatures to be defeated before chucking another one out there?
Most Power Rangers baddies are guilty of this, but we've given this honour to the one that started it all. Rita Repulsa was the first major villain in the franchise's history, playing opposite the Mighty Morphin variety for three seasons.
She was even revived for the 2017 Power Rangers film, being played by Elizabeth Banks. Although, maybe let's not talk about that for too long. It was quite embarrassing.
