10 Embarrassingly Awful TV Roles Taken By Hollywood Stars

7. Ryan Gosling €“ Hercules, Young Hercules

Ryan Gosling Embarrassing Despite recent respectable efforts such as Drive and Place Beyond the Pines, you'll always remember Ryan Gosling was at least partly responsible for The Notebook. But that's not his worst work by any means - that accolade goes to his portrayal of the titular Young Hercules, in spin-off from the Kevin Sorbo TV series. Gosling portrayed a young Herc for 49 episodes, when the show was eventually cancelled. Hanging on the coattails of the super-successful Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess, it was clearly an attempt to fill a hole in the scheduling with as little effort as possible - but surely FOX would never commission a show for that reason alone?! Lazy television at its finest. In fairness, it isn't that much worse than the adult series. The costumes look about the same as the adult series, and the bad acting and dodgy script were both present - but even worse. The jokes were corny, the show was littered with sound effects (to get kids' attention) and one scene even shows young Hercules receiving a wedgie from a tree. Honestly, I'm not lying - look below.
