7. Frank Jr. Is A Single Father
During its ten-year run, Friends dealt with pretty much every life event imaginable, from having a homosexual, transvestite father to dealing with crying strippers to indulging in shark porn after a hard day at the office. But there is one thing that the Friends writers never really explored, and it's reasonably common (in comparison to those previously mentioned things, anyway): being a single father. You might remember that Phoebe's brother, Frank Jr., married his high school home ec. teacher, Alice. Alice was 44 when we first met her in Season 3, which would make her 60 today. Therefore, it is by no means inconceivable that Alice would have died sometime in the last ten years for whatever reason. So Frank Jr. is now 35, and a single father to 15-year-old triplets. Judging by how hyperactive there were when we last saw them (at age 5), and how much stress Frank Jr. appeared to be under trying to manage them, his current situation is compelling and entertaining enough to warrant a spin-off sitcom on its own merits. But Alice's isn't the only death the Friends have to deal with...
