10 Emotional Scenes The Friends Reunion Movie Needs To Have

6. Richard Dies

Friends Richard Come on. Someone has to die during the movie itself, don't they? It wouldn't be a Friends movie unless someone died, allowing the gang to look back on their life in a comedic yet sentimental fashion. Removing any family members from the equation, it seems that the Friends movie death is a straight shootout (for want of a more suitable term) between two characters: Monica's ophthalmologist ex-boyfriend Richard, and Marcel. Marcel. No, not Fun Bobby. Marcel. He was Ross's monkey during the first season. No, he didn't die already at the zoo, they found him acting in a movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme, remember? No? Anyway... After struggling to ever get over Monica, Richard moves to Hawaii to work as a private investigator. What? Oh. Yes I suppose it could be abbreviated to "P.I." if absolutely necessary. Anyway, Magnum, uh, I mean, Richard, gets critically wounded in a dockside warehouse firefight. The gang attend his funeral where an important home video is played on a big screen; awkwardly, however, Richard had taped over the video with another of his cowboy boot-wearing conquests. Oops.

I'm a university graduate/full-time layabout who fills his days writing fiction, watching 90s sitcoms and growing irate after failing to catch Mewtwo with 99 ultra balls on Pokémon Red. I think that says it all, really, doesn't it?
