10 Epic TV Shows That Never Made It To Our Screens

4. Captain America

In 2019, Captain America stands as one of the top superheroes in all of media. This is thanks to Chris Evans and the MCU creating an iteration of Steve Rogers that the whole world managed to fall in love with.

Yet, in the early 1990's that wasn't exactly the case and Captain America was seen as a commodity that was too patriotic for his own good.

Even so, back when Spider-Man: The Animated Series was inspiring a new wave of wall-crawling fans, Captain America was scheduled to arrive on the scene with his own animated show.

The series would be produced by Saban Entertainment - of X-Men and Silver Surfer fame - and remarkably even changed Rogers name to Tommy Tompkins, claiming that his other name was just a pseudonym created by the United States Army.

When the original demo tape was released, it showed cap whooping some Nazi ass and that the bulk of the action would be taking place in WWII. Oh and he'd also be coming face to face with his arch-nemesis, Red Skull.

A combination of not wanting to stray too far into political territory and Marvel's financial troubles, meant that this awesome looking series never found a home on our screens.

Just imagine how popular Cap would have been coming into the turn of the century, if this series was held in the same regard as the Spidey animation.
