An animated sitcom about a talking horse who is a fading actor? Sure, that's it's basic premise, but BoJack Horseman is so much more. It's an absurdist comedy, a biting commentary on celebrity culture, a hangout sitcom about a bunch of friends and their lives (some of whom just happen to be animals), and a poignant meditation on depression, addiction, and grief that is equally as capable of wringing tears of laughter as it is tears of sadness.

The show has gone from strength to strength over the years, including some devastating moments that will leave you shattered, but also enough moments of hope that'll leave you wanting more. It may not get the same levels of hype as most Netflix originals, but it's undoubtedly the best of them.
