10 Exact Moments Fans Turned On Their Favourite TV Characters

3. Jim Gets Married - The Office

The issue surrounding Jim Halpert's character arc in the US Office is one of the most well known debacles in television, and one of the few issues that really put a black mark against the show in its later seasons.

Jim began the show right from the very first episode, and immediately established himself as a fan favourite due to his wide array of pranks and quips towards Dwight. His mild-mannered personality, obvious intelligence and reasonable level of social skills helped him become all the more relatable as he continued to insist that his job at Dunder Mifflin was only temporary.

He essentially became the character audiences rooted the most for too with his 'will they/won't they' storyline with receptionist Pam, which would eventually see the pair marry in the show's fifth season.

It was this one moment that really began to alter Jim as a character however, with Dunder Mifflin's salesman becoming more and more work-centric, making big decisions without consulting Pam and generally coming across as a lot more prone to jealously than before.

All of these traits are pretty much the polar opposite to the things that made Jim such a loveable character to begin with so, for fans who had stuck with and rooted for him throughout the series, there must have been a frustrating feeling of betrayal watching him in the show's later episodes.
