10 Exact Moments We Knew TV Characters Were Doomed To Die
7. Walter Poisons Brock - Breaking Bad
Walter White (Bryan Cranston) committed a number of heinous transgressions throughout Breaking Bad, and honestly, letting Jesse's (Aaron Paul) girlfriend Jane (Krysten Ritter) choke to death on her own vomit was probably enough to write him off entirely.
But there's an even worse act which truly tipped the balance too far, one repulsive enough that many fans simply gave up rooting for Walt and simply watched to see him play out the clock.
That moment, of course, was poisoning Brock (Ian Posada), the innocent young son of Jesse's girlfriend Andrea (Emily Rios), at the end of season four ("End Times").
Walt uses poisonous berries from the plant Lily of the Valley to make Brock fall ill, and in turn manipulate Jesse into believing that Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) was responsible.
Brock thankfully recovers from being poisoned, but it was just a step too far villainous for audiences to try and excuse Walt any longer.
There was no coming back for Walt after this, serving as proof perfect that he cared more about "the game" than innocent lives. He had to go.
And so in the series finale, Walt dies of gunshot wounds after rescuing Jesse from Jack (Michael Bowen). Heroic? Sure. Redemptive? Somewhat, but it doesn't erase the fact that Walt almost got a child killed.
