10 Exact TV Moments That Made Fans Rage Quit

8. Brian's "Death" - Family Guy

Family Guy has fallen victim to “Simpsons Syndrome”, being a once loved animated series that is now a shadow of its former self. Any trace of wit or invention is long gone, and all it can do is recycle old gags and be relentlessly mean-spirited.

Interest in the show has been waning for a while, but it briefly got audiences interested again before turning them off for good. This happened with Brian’s death in season twelve, where the verbose mutt is killed in a hit and run accident. It was an unexpectedly emotional storyline for the show and reminded fans why they liked it in the first place.

Sadly it undid all that goodwill by bringing him back almost instantly, and Seth McFarlane admitted it was pretty much a gimmick to keep people interested. Fans didn’t take kindly to this manipulation, leading to plunging ratings ever since.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
