It has all the right ingredients for a great sitcom; miscasts pretending to be a family lead by an ex SNL actor. In the movie, Jason Sudeikis plays a drug dealer who hires a family - consisting of a stripper, a teen tearaway and the dumbass next door - to sneak over the border and collect drugs in Mexico. The dynamic was the best thing about the film, and that's exactly what should be channelled in the TV show: watching them try to integrate as the all-American family as a front, dealing with normal issues through dysfunction would be a great watch. In particular, the idea of a stripper mum having to go to book clubs, parent meetings and chaperoning dances while the drug dealer dad barbeques and teaches kids how to play ball is just glorious. All this cast (minus Jennifer Aniston) are TV regulars but somehow Sudeikis and Aniston didn't sell the secret sleazy life: while funny Sudiekis seemed too polished to be a drug dealer, and someone like Will Arnett would fit better and America's sweetheart Aniston as a stripper seems less likely than someone like Sarah Silverman or Leslie Mann. While Emma Roberts is disposable there is no reason to replace her but Brit newcomer Will Poulter is the highlight of the film as Kenny the idiot, and he's pretty much irreplacable.
