2. Chandler's Final Line
Friends' final scene is so utterly perfect in how it says farewell to these characters, concluding as they all leave Monica and Chandler's apartment for the last time and move on with their lives.
As they exit, Rachel asks the gang if they want to get some coffee, and in the immortal final line of the show, Chandler sarcastically says, "Sure, where?"
As impossible as it is to imagine that these departing words were anything but meticulously laboured over by creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman, they weren't scripted at all but thought up by Matthew Perry on the spot.
As much as "Should we get some coffee?" would've been a thematically appropriate final line for a show that spent so much of its time centered around a coffee shop, Perry's improvised follow-up was a perfect final gut-busting Chandler Bing one-liner to help soothe the heartbreak of saying goodbye to these characters.
