10 Funniest Brooklyn Nine-Nine Characters

1. Captain Raymond Holt

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Fox

As the leader of the 99th precinct, you'd expect this stone-faced machine man to be something of a cornerstone of importance, the setter of examples and... a pedantic, sometimes even childish person? While all of these are surprisingly correct, the one thing that needs to be mentioned, is simply how much of the show's humour is derided from Raymond Holt's lack of exuberance and his incredibly faceted personality.

As the chief in charge, it seems only normal that a lot of storylines would constitute Holt being the central focus of them, and he arguably plays more of a role in these instances than anyone. One thing that can't be put on trial though, is the amount of tribulation he prominently undergoes at the hands of his colleagues, but most importantly, his husband, Kevin.

Albeit all in good comedic taste, of course.

The instances with Kevin and just how formally disillusioning their relationship is always earn laughs. His endearing dynamic with both Jake and Amy as both a mentor and father figure to the two is as sentimental as it is sardonic. Matched only by his temperament and etiquette can only be described as unpredictable, depending on context. Distinctly whenever that bitch Cheddar turns up.
