10 Funniest Futurama Characters

2. Zapp Brannigan

Futurama Zapp Brannigan Hilariously modelled after Star Trek's Captain Kirk, the egotistical, obnoxious, arrogant 25-Star General in the Democratic Order of Planets is literally on another planet. He believes himself to be the ultimate ladies man, but underneath the underserved glory, he's really just another fat, sexist pig. Leela may not love him for it, but we certainly do. The coward manages to bring in the laughs every single time that he defiles our screens with his compulsive lies and dangerous methods. He suffers from a "very sexy learning disability" called sexlexia, he has his own law - 'Brannigan's Law', and even managed to defeat an army of killbots by sending wave after wave of his own men at them until their kill limit reset. What a man! Voiced by: Billy West First appearance: In the fourth episode of the first season, 'Love's Labours Lost in Space', Zapp Brannigan initially appears as if he can be a heroic hero of a man. But it soon becomes apparent that his fame is a complete lie as he continuously abuses Kif, mispronounces champagne, and guilt trips Leela into bed. Greatest episode: Season 2's 'War is the H-Word' is a Starship Troopers inspired episode following Fry and Bender as they sign up to Earth's military so that they can receive discount. Unfortunately for them, war breaks out against a race of giant balls, and battles ensue on the balls' home planet. Earth's leader in battle - the one and only Zapp Brannigan, who shows off his negotiation skills and his happiness from being beaten up by a girl. Finest line: 'A Taste of Freedom' "Remember men, take him alive so there's something left to kill."
