10. Neil Fingleton

You could be forgiven for not recognising Neil Fingleton's name, but when it came to casting the role of a giant, who better to recruit than a real-life giant. Fingleton is Britain's Tallest Man, standing at just over 7'7" tall, and was picked up by the Thrones producers to play the part of Mag Mar Tun Doh Weg, commonly referred to "the giant that rides the kickass woolly mammoth." He initially auditioned for the role of The Mountain, and despite not getting the part, the creators kept his details on file and made the call for him to appear in Season 4.
