10 Game Of Thrones Deaths You Didn't Actually See Happen

1. Rhaego

It's one of the most mysterious, often forgotten deaths in Game of Thrones, but it's true that Rhaego, son of Daenerys and Drogo, died off-screen in one of the most bizarre sequences of the show. He was birthed with a brutal description: "Monstrous. Twisted. I drew him forth myself. He was scaled like a lizard, blind, with the stub of a tail and small leather wings like the wings of a bat. When I touched him, the flesh sloughed off the bone, and inside he was full of graveworms and the stink of corruption. He had been dead for years." Those are the words of Mirri Maz Duur, the maegi. But while we heard all about the grotesqueness of the creature, we never saw any evidence of it. Obviously something as huge as this was not going to go unnoticed, and the internet is awash with theories as to how young Rhaego, who we've only seen in visions, could have survived. One theory suggests he was taken away and hidden, meaning Jorah Mormont was in on the plot, while an outrageous thread once stated that Rhaego was a time-travelling fetus who turned out to be Tyrion Lannister. Yes, you read that correctly. The madcap theory discusses how a combination of Quaithe and the maegi sent the unborn Rhaego back into Joanna Lannister's womb and brought Tyrion forward, obviously decades would have passed and the monstrous corpse would've been rotten. I'd put the probability of that coming true at 0% chance, and that's being generous, but I wouldn't entirely rule out Rhaego's return at some stage, however unlikely it may seem.
