10 Game Of Thrones Reunions We Can’t Wait For In Season 8
5. Arya & Jon
The Starks were separated so early into season one that it was difficult to judge the dynamics of the relationships between the individual children. Were Robb and Sansa close? What about Arya and Bran? Did any of them give two hoots about Rickon?
One thing that showrunners have made clear was that Jon loved all of his half siblings. He nearly broke his Night’s Watch vow to go to war with Robb. He did go to war for Rickon, and his reunion with Sansa was one of the most emotional of the show thus far.
And before he went to take the black, Jon was shown to be very brotherly with Arya. It was he who secretly had needle forged and encouraged Arya to become who she wanted to be, not the lady that Westerosi custom demanded. In fact, Jon and Arya were so close that, in George R.R Martin’s original outline for GOT, he had them earmarked as lovers.
Expect an initial reunion more heartwarming than Jon and Sansa’s when the King of the North reaches Winterfell in season eight. He will be relieved to see her alive and well, but what will Jon - the unquestionable morale core of the show - make of Arya’s faces?
