As much a part of every true geeks cultural upbringing as comic books and Dungeons & Dragons is that occasion when a group of friends will elect to put together a day or an evening of playing a tabletop game. While companies such as the UKs own Games Workshop put together games involving whole armies of miniature soldiers, robots and/or creatures from fantasy, and US companies like Wizards Of The Coast have made a fortune from selling eager geeks slender packs of cards at inflated prices to play with, if you want to play cheaply, efficiently and spontaneously, a board game is a geeks best friend. The top two, time and again, have been Talisman (a magical quest game, like Monopoly meets Lord Of The Rings), and Settlers Of Catan, a more strategy-based game involving accruing points by building settlements and communities: and of course, The Big Bang Theory has our four favourite geeks playing both games at different times. Season twos The Financial Permeability is the third time Talisman has made an appearance in the game, while the fifth seasons The Recombination Hypothesis is the first and only appearance of Settlers Of Catan to date. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEq-0inAWzk
