Tissues at the ready, folks! The Eleventh Doctor came face to face with his beloved TARDIS in Series 6's critically acclaimed The Doctor's Wife and it was the most heartbreaking thing you could ever imagine... and then some! Our beloved hero has been known to take his faithful police box for granted so seeing her (yes, the TARDIS is a 'her', by the way!) adopt a psychical form was a much needed reminder that she really is the best friend he could ever ask for. What's more, Neil Gaiman's lauded script finally put an end to the age old mystery regarding the TARDIS' unpredictable nature as she confirmed that she always takes the Doctor where he needs to go, which isn't always necessarily where he wants to go. And just like that, the last five decades of timey-wimey shenanigans make sense. If you weren't a bubbling mess during their final farewell scene, which - in true Doctor Who style - actually ended with them saying their first "hello", then you obviously weren't paying enough attention. It was so very, very nice to meet you, too, Idris!
